Return to The Three Gorges, a large-scale live-action show featuring poems and culture,  will be performed by Qutang Gorge of the Yangtze River, Fengjie County on March 28. The show is directed by Zhang Yimou, a well-known director of China. 

The debut was at Baidicheng (White Emperor City) Qutangxia Scenic Area in this county on the evening of December 15 last year. The first performance had received 26,417 audiences, with the seat occupancy rate of over 95%. People, from home and abroad, also praised it widely.

Since now, the four ticket channels will open to the public.

The peaks of the Three Gorges are shrouded in the clouds and mists, and the restless water is flowing under the White Emperor City. After watching the Return to The Three Gorges, audiences always described it as “a feast to eyes”. They also claimed that they were “enjoying themselves so much as to forget to leave”. 

The on-water performance also boasts the maximum volume and the most complicated technologies in inland rivers worldwide. Zhang Yimou, the Chief Director, positioned it as a “breakthrough” and “enduring” artwork.

Since now, the four ticket channels will open to the public. Then, visitors from the world can purchase tickets from the online channels of Ctrip, Shicheng Yuanfang OTA, and 7wa.cc and the scenic area of White Emperor City on site.

The performance will last about 60 minutes. And the designer has utilized the natural conditions of the ground and sky, took the mountains and waters as the curtain, high and new technology as the support, and poems as the main narrative line. It shows the beauty of the natural sceneries of the Three Gorges, the culture of Bayu people, and the artistic conception of ancient poetry. It also serves as a representation integrated with human culture, nature, science and technology, and poems.
