The 54th National Crafts Trade Fair (the Fair for short) will open at Chongqing International Expo Center in Southwest China from March 21 to 24, 2019.

Hosted by the China Arts and Crafts Association, this event has attracted over 1,000 companies from 27 provinces/autonomous regions/municipalities. At that time, citizens will have the chance to see the most representative arts and crafts works from around China.

The exhibition area will cover nearly 80,000 square meters and set about 3,500 stands. The three exhibition zones are for arts and crafts works, artificial plant, and wedding celebration decorations. The Fair will also gather numerous masters of art, well-known practitioners, and the relevant organizations in the arts and crafts field. They will also bring the most representative artworks of China.

“The arts and crafts of China enjoy time-honored history, exquisite skills, and various kinds. It is a significant part of China’s excellent traditional culture.” Introduced by Wang Zhijie. He serves as the Vice President of the China Arts and Crafts Association. Thanks to the robust development in the past tens of years, China has become the largest manufacturer and exporter of arts and crafts works around the world. “The Fair has become the bridge to connect art and market.”

Last time the Fair went to Chongqing

In 2007, the 42nd National Crafts Trade Fair firstly kicked off in Chongqing. Then, when the 54th session returns after 12 years, what are the highlights of the exhibition area of Chongqing? Cai Zerong, Director of Chongqing Industrial Arts Association, said that the exhibition area has set 40 stands to showcase the artworks from different districts and counties around Chongqing. “Rongchang Pottery, Dazu Rock Carvings, and Chongqing Lacquerware will be the highlights. Moreover, citizens will experience the development and unique charm of the arts and crafts in Chongqing.” He told us.

To let the public appreciate their beauties at a closer distance, the Fair will also hold handicraft performances and experience activities. Moreover, well-known practitioners of arts and crafts will show their skills on site. Thus citizens will have the chance to experience the manufacture of leather art, embroidery, and weave.
