On September 1, at the 2019 China Top 500 Enterprises Summit held in Jinan, the China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association (CEC/CEDA) released the 2019 List of the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises. Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corporation, State Grid, China State Construction, ICBC, Ping An Insurance, China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, SAIC Motor, and Bank of China ranked among the top 10. Moreover, a total of 14 Chongqing enterprises graced the top 10, setting a new record, with one more compared to last year.

These 14 listed Chongqing companies are: Jinke Holdings, Longfor, Loncin, Chongqing General Trading Group, Chongqing Energy, Chongqing Construction Engineering Group, Chongqing Chemical & Pharmaceutical Holding (Group) Company, Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank, Chongqing Machinery & Electric Holding (Group) Company, Taiji Group, Sokon Group, Lifan, Chongqing Light Industry & Textile Group, and Huayu Group. Among them, Huayu Group made the list for the first time.

The threshold for the list is RMB 32.25 billion this year, an increase of RMB 1.636 billion over the previous year, which has risen for 17 consecutive years since the first release in 2002.

Guo Qinghua, Vice President and Secretary-General of CEC/CEDA, introduced that among the 14 listed companies in this year, the rankings of 7 enterprises including Jinke Holdings, Longfor, Loncin, Chongqing General Trading Group, Chongqing Energy, Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank, and Chongqing Light Industry & Textile Group have risen markedly. In addition, Chongqing witnessed 15 enterprises listed in Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises in 2019, one more than last year, and 21 enterprises listed in Top 500 Chinese Service Enterprises in 2019, two more than the previous year. Data indicates that Chongqing’s large enterprises continue to maintain a sustained and stable competitive advantage, and its leading private enterprises continue to see a sound momentum of rapid growth. It also shows that remarkable results are being made by Chongqing enterprises in advancing high-quality development, accelerating transformation and development, and furthering the construction of a modern industrial system with Chongqing’s advantages.
