Do you want Kenyan handicrafts, Sri Lanka Ceylon Highland black tea, Polish specialty dumplings, and Singapore ceramic tableware?

From the countries or regions along the Belt and Road (B&R), such goods with super-high cost performance will be available in Chongqing International Exhibition and Trading Center, Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China.

According to Chongqing Free Trade Port Area on January 4, 2019, seven new national pavilions started trail operation in the center. They are US Pavilion, Kenya Style Pavilion, Polish Pavilion, Swiss Pavilion, Sri Lanka Pavilion, Southeast Asian Fresh Food Pavilion and New Zealand Pavilion. The original Singapore Pavilion and Australian Pavilion have also been upgraded. Therefore, the center will boast more abundant business formats, offering customers a better global purchasing experience.

The newly-built Sri Lanka Pavilion has introduced more than 30 kinds of Ceylon Highland black tea. According to the principal, differing from the single variety in China, the black tea in Sri Lanka is almost mixed. A variety of materials such as roses, dried fruits combine with the tea leaves. In addition, the price is also at least 30% cheaper than other imported supermarkets.

The Southeast Asian Fresh Food Pavilion offers more than 200 high-quality cost-effective products covering fruits, coffee, chocolate and edible oil. The price in this pavilion is about 20% lower than the average market price in Chongqing. Moreover, it will launch a group buying activity during the Spring Festival, reducing the price to around 35%.

The US Pavilion also began trial operation in the same period. This pavilion purchases American ginseng in Wisconsin, with customs declaration and inspection via formal channels, plus corresponding government documents. Each product is traceable to the source. Thus, there is no need to worry about buying fake and inferior commodities.

Nowadays, there are a growing number of business formats in science, culture, tourism, etc. Therefore, this situation also highlights the exchange and cooperation between the center and the countries or regions along the B&R.

The newly upgraded Australian Pavilion is typical. Based on a cross-border e-commerce platform, this pavilion will focus more on the exchange between enterprises in Australia and Chongqing. It has reached a partnership with a popular local enterprise to help import beef directly from Australian pastures. In this way, the pavilion can guarantee the source of beef and meanwhile provides a more affordable price.

Next, the port will further strengthen the center’s trade function, and traveling function.
