Nourishing Diet for Spring

The temperature in March is getting warmer and warmer while the ground comes back to life with a vibrant look. Well, what are the most nourishing foods for March?

Attention should be paid to nourish the liver in spring. Stagnant liver-qi will cause damage to the spleen. In order to nourish the spleen in spring, we would better eat more sweet foods, such as honey, yam, leek and spinach, and less sour foods, such as lemon, hawthorn, tomato, green apple, and orange.

  1. Fried Egg with Bitter Gourd

Food ingredients: Half a bitter gourd, 2 eggs, some salt, and oil.

Cooking methods: Remove pulp from washed bitter gourd, cut it into pieces, add salt and pinch it.  

Whip eggs in a bowl. First, pour the eggs into a pan and stir fry until solidification, then stir fry the bitter gourd together, and finally season with salt.

Food ingredients: 150g walnuts, some honey, crystal sugar, sesame, and oil.

Cooking methods: Pour a little water into a wok and boil the crystal sugar until it melts. Add honey and walnuts and stir fry until ready to dish out. Pour oil again, stir fry the walnuts, after dishing up, sprinkle sesame on it.

  1. Fried Chicken with Carrots

Food ingredients: 100g chicken breast, 2 carrots, 2 green peppers, some salt, and oil.

Cooking methods: Cut chicken breast, carrots, and green peppers into slices.   Pour oil into a pan, and stir-fry chicken breast until it changes color. Then add carrots and green peppers and stir-fry.  Finally season with salt.

Milk and Egg Custard

Food ingredients: 250g milk, 2 eggs, and 20g white sugar.

Cooking methods: Whip eggs and white sugar in a bowl. After sieving, add milk and whip. Finally, put it into a pot and steam it over water.
