Chongqing Lacquerware

Chongqing lacquerware was invented first in Qin and Han dynasty, developed in the Tang dynasty, and continued into Ming and Qing dynasties. It has a variety of forms including transparent paint, black shining lacquer, thick lacquer, bright lacquer and so on.

The skill is complicated and delicate, it integrates more than 10 skills such as the ability to make an embryo, painting, and polish, and there are other unique skills like grind color painting, shell mosaic, powder light split. It has been collected by the Palace Museum in Beijing, Victoria Museum in England, and the Treasure Hall of China Arts and Crafts Museum.
