Recently, a video clip called “The Most Beautiful Metro Lines in the World” went viral on the Internet. Netizens liked it and made the comment “This is the longest, most complete and shocking video clip of metro lines I’ve ever seen!”

Surprisingly, the video clip, filmed for 6 months and with over 4,000 finding shots, was all by Liu Rugan, a 54-year-old photography enthusiast. More Than 4,000 shots took from CRT Line 2, Line 3 and Line 6. Meanwhile, 102 shots with lengths ranging from a few seconds to more than ten seconds composed the whole video clip.

“The video clip you see is 102 shots. In fact, I took these more than 4,000 shots from April to early November.” Liu told journalists that the video clip was about the beautiful scenery of CRT Line 2, Line 3 and Line 6. Except for those shots taken at Shiziping Station and Niujiaotuo Station, other ones were all along the metro line, “It took more than half a year and I spent almost 40% of my time on the way to the spot.”

A window shot took two or three days

Due to the most time of shooting in summer, Liu has to make a hard long journey to get some special shooting angles in addition to enduring mosquitoes. “Lots of people shoot short video clips, while many others just focus on Liziba Station. Actually, there are still many beautiful scenes of Chongqing’s metro lines, especially the night scenes, which are like paintings. That’s why I want to do this.”

Liu said that he occasionally went home for dinner after work from the company every day, but most of the time he went straight to the intraday shooting destination. Sometimes, it’s normal to take more than a dozen shots for getting a scene, and even it’s also normal to shoot all night but get nothing. He recalled that he took two or three days and took dozens of trips back and forth in order to get the shot looking out of the window.

Spreading the beauty of Chongqing Metro Lines

Liu expressed his sorry for not spending too much time with his wife due to his rapt in photography for the past decade, but he was very moved when his wife saw the video he took and shared it on her Moments.

“I am a photography enthusiast of the beauty of metro lines.” Liu expressed his hope to travel around every corner of the rail transit line in the days to come and shoot more and more beautiful video clips of Chongqing metro lines for everyone.
