“By the end of this year, the number of international routes of Chongqing will exceed 80, covering Europe, America, and Oceania.” Wang Qinlin, Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Transportation Bureau, spoke on the opening ceremony of Chongqing international flight promotional campaign.

A promotional campaign for international flights

On Saturday, December 8, Chongqing launched a promotional campaign for the international flight, named “Fly with Chongqing” at Guanyinqiao shopping area, downtown Chongqing. Wang made a keynote speech at the launch ceremony.

According to her, as of 2017, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport received 2.69 million international travelers, ranking 12^th of China, and the international cargo and mail volume reached 133,000 tons, ranking 6^th of China.

When speaking of the new direct non-stop Chongqing-Paris route, operated by Hainan Airlines and to be open soon on December 19, Wang expressed her expectation. “The route will further deepen the economic and trade exchanges between Chongqing and Europe. In addition, it will make European companies invest in Chongqing easier. It will also facilitate the citizens of our city to travel or study in Europe.”

Two new routes to Seattle and Boston will be launched

Yang Fei, General Manager of International Department of Business Committee of Hainan Airlines, made an introduction of Chongqing-Paris non-stop route. “The direct flight will be operated by the wide-bodied Boeing 787, and there will be two flights per week. What's more, for the citizens of Chongqing, it will only take about 11 hours to enjoy the scenery of Paris.”

Following the non-stop routes to London, Rome, Helsinki and Moscow, the Chongqing-Paris route is the 5^th passenger route from Chongqing to Europe. Besides, two new routes from Chongqing to Seattle and Boston respectively will also be launched this month.
