Yabadong Wetland Park, Fairy Tale Wonderland

Walking in the "Big Fish and Begonia" Square of Yabadong Wetland Park in Nanan Chongqing, you will find a "miracle of color" here. The 3.43-kilometer Yangtze River ebb and flow area have been transformed into a colorful fairy tale world. You can shake the time back to a happy childhood with a single shot.

A barren slope surrounds the former Nanbin Road Yabadong, Wetland Park. The riverside was mainly catering, ships and the sewage was cross-flowing. There was rubbish everywhere, and it exuded a stench.

The "Big Fish and Begonia" Square, which opened on September 30, 2021, is one of the project's nodes. It is located between the Xianglong Riverside Community and Shijiayan Wharf, covering an area of about 19,000 square meters. The square has created a comprehensive ecological and cultural landscape such as an infinity pool, a parent-child lawn, a strolling pond, a cedar forest, an ecological and humanistic picture scroll of the Yangtze River, and a 3D wall painting of Big Fish and Begonia. There are various levels of walking trails along the river.

According to the project leader, the design of "Big Fish and Begonia" Square was inspired by the national animation movie "Big Fish and Begonia." The three landscape pools on the square are the three classic pictures in the film, introducing traditional Chinese characters and stories via the way of the national style in the film.
