The 3^rd Jiangjin Shimen Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off at Cherry Blossom Sea Scenic Area on February 18. In addition, the festival will last from February to the end of April. Meanwhile, 600 mu of Taiwan cherry blossom are available for citizens.

Cherry Blossom Sea Scenic Area is located in Jinlong Village, Shimen Town, Jiangjin District. In the meantime, it aims to create a scenic spot featuring the flower sea. It is 43 kilometers from downtown Jiangjin, 35 kilometers from downtown Yongchuan and 90 kilometers from downtown Chongqing.

In addition to cherry blossom, peony cherry is the main option for tourists. There are 5,000 plants of “Taiwan Peony Cherry” with a ground diameter of 15-30 cm. You can easily notice a large cherry tree in its full bloom, not from the scenic spot. Besides, it stands in a prominent position in the middle of a lotus pond.

Other activity held in the same period

Moreover, Chongqing’s  Love-Themed Marathon will be held on April 21 at Yuanshuai Square in downtown Jiangjin. It is a competition of both half and short-range marathon, inviting couples and family to run for love.

As of April 7, there are two ways available for finishing the application. One is to log in the official website of the event. The other is to follow the WeChat official account: “Love-Themed Marathon (东方爱情马拉松)” or the “XB Sports (重庆炫豹体育)”.

The event is full of love, vitality, and warmth. A competitive event special for couples falling into half marathon (21.0975km) and mini-marathon (5km) has been set. How romantic it is to run the sweetest marathon with your beloved!
