Chongqing- The press conference of Peony-Themed Carnival in Dianjiang County kicked off on March 12. According to the conference, the 20^th Peony-Themed Carnival will open to the public from March to May. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the Peony-Themed Carnival will begin on March 29. Moreover, the carnival had been held 19 times before, becoming the symbol of Dianjiang County.

The tourist advantages in Dianjiang County

Located at the junction of tow expressway, Shanghai-Chengdu, and Shanghai-Chongqing, it only takes one hour to downtown Chongqing. Meanwhile, it is an important part of the Three Gorges tourism belt.

On the other hand, it is the plantation base of hybrid rice. Therefore, Dianjiang is also known as the “granary of Ba”. In the meantime, soy preserved cucumbers and plum wine are the most 50 popular intangible cultural heritage. Besides, for delicious food, Dianjiang County is famous for its tofu pudding. It tastes soft as well as a little bit sweet. Meanwhile, herbal mutton is also famous there.

For this time, Dianjiang County will promote the plan of “1+5+4+N”. The one represents the overall planning of tourism of Dianjiang County. In addition, the four are the high-quality tour routes while the five represent the five elements of its tourism. Furthermore, the word N represents a series of scenic spots they will promote.

In 2018, Dianjiang County served 3.536 million visitors, reaching the total tourist revenue of RMB 2.38 billion.

Five major events of the Peony-Themed Carnival

The Peony-Themed Carnival begins from March to May, embracing the best time to enjoy flowers is from the end of March to the end of April. The carnival focuses on peonies and health, broadcasting the tourism of Dianjiang County. The city will promote tourism by integrating sports, agriculture, and commerce. Additionally, there are five major events of the carnival.

The half marathon, sponsored by Shancheng Watch, will kick off on March 24. The marathon game will build up the consciousness of health of citizens there. Meanwhile, it will conduct a forum for peony industry on March 28, inviting experts and peony lovers to discuss the development of peonies. After the forum, it will hold an artistic performance on March 29, presenting the characteristics of Dianjiang County. Afterward, there will be an exhibition of painting, calligraphy, and photography from March 29 to April 7. At last, Dianjiang County will implement a series of activities from now until May 31. These activities are relevant to idyllic sceneries, farming culture, as well as folk custom.

Peonies in Dianjiang County

Peonies of Dianjiang County are different from other areas’. There are two cities are famous for peonies, Luoyang and Heze. However, peonies of Luoyang are used to watch more while peonies of Heze are used in oil pressing more.

Different from these two areas’ flowers, peonies in Dianjiang County have large root, which fit for medicine. Roots of peonies are also called tree peony bark, is a Chinese herbal medicinal ingredient. Flower growers in Dianjiang County will replant the peonies every three years to guarantee the quality of tree peony bark.

It is the original ingredient of paeonol. Furthermore, it is good to analgesia, antipyretic, diminish inflammation, and so on.
