Chongqing - Chongqing, as a fast-growing metropolis in China, has attracted numerous expats to work and live here. Alex Pyrozhenko from Crimea is one of them. He and his wife Iryna Nazarenko settled in Chongqing and have been seeking the opportunity to realize their dream for acrobatic rock and roll.

Before Alex and Iryna moved to Chongqing, they spent one and a half years in Kunming as theater dancers and another one year or so in Shenzhen to study Chinese. In 2016, a good contract from Chongqing brought them here. "Chongqing is more suitable for us. Because the beautiful environment here reminds us of our hometown and there are a lot of opportunities for our career development," said Alex.

Now Alex and  Iryna are working in a local art school. Iryna teaches ballet, jazz, and modern dance and Alex teaches Rock and Roll, Boogie-Woogie, Hip-hop, and Breakdance. "I like my students. They are hardworking and very interested in what we are teaching. They have a very good spirit," Alex told iChongqing. The couple is very popular among their Chinese students due to their professional skills and passion for dancing.

Alex was a professional Acrobatic Rock and Roll dancer before he moved to China. Although now this sport dance hasn't been that popular in China, and Alex hasn't taught it to many students in Chongqing yet, his passion for acrobatic Rock and Roll never subsidize. He told iChongqing that he has a plan to establish an acrobatic rock and roll federation in Chongqing, and now he is finding followers. He hopes Chongqing can be the starting place for acrobatic rock and roll in China.

Alex's two young students Betty and Tony, have been involved in acrobatic rock and roll training. "They're gonna be China's first couple to attend the world acrobatic rock and roll competition," said Alex with breathless excitement. Soon, the acrobatic rock and roll couple Tony and Betty will also attend China Got Talent competition, which is one step closer to Alex's dream coming true.
