Explore Change of Expressways in 20 Years

On January 8, 2019, a calligraphy and photography exhibition themed as “Expressway Reinvention—Tribute to the 40th Anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up with Expressways of Chongqing” kicked off at Chongqing Wang Qi Art Museum, China.

Nearly 200 painting and calligraphy artworks represent the considerable changes of roads and expressways of Chongqing, and it opens to  27th Jan, for free.

Chongqing Expressway (Group) Co., Ltd. serves as the host of this painting and photography contest. Since its start, the group has received over 500 paintings and calligraphy works and more than 1,400 photography works.

90 photos and 104 painting and calligraphy works were selected for this exhibition. Moreover, the exhibits cover static expressways, dynamic builders, engineering construction, and operation services. They all reflect the rapid development and changes of expressways in Chongqing.

By the end of 2018, Chongqing had achieved a 3,094-kilometer traffic mileage of expressways and built 20 interprovincial passages. By 2020, the expressway traffic mileage will be 3,800 kilometers, with the expressway network density of 4.6 kilometers/100 square kilometers. Moreover, the number of interprovincial exits will total 27, covering 75% of expressways in villages and towns.
