For Chongqing people, there’s a memory of gan chang, meaning going to the market on certain days, which is an activity full of vitality and suitable for people of all ages. This Bayu feature is depicted on the mural at Shapingba Station on CRT Line 1. There are ten markets along the CRT routes as follows. On market days, there will be food markets including ordinary vegetable markets, wholesalers starting a business early, and markets opening during the particular time (8:00-12:00). Ten markets

Liaojiaping Farmer’s Market, Chenjiaqiao Subdistrict

Market days: The 3rd/6th/9th/13th/16th/19th/23rd/26th/29th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 1 and get out of Exit No. 1 at Weidianyuan Station, then take Bus No. 276 and get off at Chenjiaqiao Road East Station.

Market at Qingmuguan Town

Market days: The 1st/4th/7th/11th/14th/17th/21st/24th/27th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 1 and get out of Exit No. 1 at Weidianyuan Station, then take Bus No. 276 and get off at the terminal station.

Market at Shengwei Square, Hutouyan 

Market days: The 3rd/6th/9th/13th/16th/19th/23rd/26th/29th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 1 and get out of Exit No. 2B at Xietaizi Station, and walk for more than ten minutes.

Zhengyang Market, Nanping Town

Market days: The 2nd/5th/8th/12th/15th/18th/22nd/25th/28th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 3 and get out of Exit No. 2 at Gongmao Station, and walk for several hundred meters.

Tongyuanju Market

Market days: Every Sunday

Route: Take CRT Line 3 and get out of Exit No. 1 at Tongyuanju Station, and walk for 500 meters.

On market days, it’s crowded with people to buy local specialties, seeds, sun-cured tobacco leaves, cats, dogs, etc.

Yuanyang Market

Market days: The 2nd/5th/8th/12th/15th/18th/22nd/25th/28th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 3 and get out of Exit No. 1 at Yuanyang Station, and walk for 8 minutes or so in the direction of Longwen Road.

It’s located on the periphery of Phase II of Danhe Community, and vegetables and fruits are very cheap there. The market is busy from 7:00 to 12:00, and vendors begin to close their stalls afternoon.

Renhe Market

Market days: The 1st/4th/7th/11th/14th/17th/21st/24th/27th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 5 and get out of Exit No. 3 at Renhe Station, and walk for about 8 minutes.

Hongtudi Market

Market days: Every Sunday

Route: Take CRT Line 6 and get out of Exit No. 3A at Hongtudi Station, and walk for several minutes in the direction of Huanghuayuan Bridge.

Caijia Market

Market days: The 3rd/6th/9th/13th/16th/19th/23rd/26th/29th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 6 and get out of Exit No. 1 at Xiangjiagang Station, and walk for about 10 minutes in the direction of Caijia Bystreet.

Changshengqiao Market

Market days: The 2nd/5th/8th/12th/15th/18th/22nd/25th/28th days of each month

Route: Take CRT Line 6 and get out of Exit No. 1 at Changshengqiao Station, and walk for about 10 minutes.
