Chongqing-On March 23, along with Shandong media and traveling agents stepping into Chongqing’s poverty-stricken districts and counties, the activity of “100,000 Shandong People Touring Chongqing” officially began. The tour group, consisting of more than 30 mainstream media reporters (including Xinhuanet, Daily Mass, Qilu Evening News, Shandong Radio and Television, and Dazhongnet), travel bloggers and leaders of 25 local key traveling agents from Shandong, will go deep into all districts and counties of Chongqing to enjoy beautiful scenery, taste delicious food, and take beautiful photos.

Chongqing, which stands on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in the hinterland of Southwest China, is the only municipality directly under the Central Government in Central and Western China. It is also the national central city with the globally glorious titles of “Mountain City, River City and Ever-bright City”. Chongqing’s combination of amazing natural landscapes, profound cultural accumulation, colorful regional customs and breathtaking development trend has given birth to its regional brand potential on prominent tourism domestically and worldwide. The municipality is making great efforts to explore and cultivate cultural tourism resources, so as to give play to its advantages of “The Three Gorges”, “Mountain City”, “Cultural Tourism”, “Hot Spring” and “Village Tourism”.

Chongqing owns the combination of city, rural area, mountainous area and reservoir area. It is also home to the two national poverty-stricken areas covering Qin-Ba Mountain area and Wuling Mountain area. The biggest challenge facing Chongqing is to lift the remaining 100,000 people out of poverty. For a better poverty-stricken effort by further promoting the poverty alleviation cooperation of cultural tourism in Shandong and Chongqing and pushing the poverty alleviation of cultural tourism in Chongqing with the rural revitalization, the tour group will visit such poverty-stricken countries as Youyang, Xiushan, Wushan, Fengjie to get to know the local advantages of tourism resources based on two teams including the southeast route and northeast route.

Shandong media and traveling agents visiting Chongqing is an important part of “100,000 Shandong People Touring Chongqing” Activity. The activity aims to promote Chongqing’s cultural tourism resources and ecological tourism resources by feat of Shandong media and traveling agents. In this connection, they can present Chongqing’s beautiful scenery, good things and delicious food from their own perspectives, so as to attract more tourists to know Chongqing and come to visit there, improve the popularity and reputation of Chongqing tourism in Shandong Province, thus effectively lifting Chongqing out of poverty.
