Chongqing- “I don’t have much fans in Chongqing, but I would like to have a concert here.” Italian singer Al Bano Carrisi spoke to iChongqing in Wanzhou Chongqing, 8th November 2018. Two hours later, he sang Nessun Dorma on the Concert of the World's Great Rivers, one of the core activities in the 9th China Yangtze River Three Gorges International Tourism Festival, at Wanzhou Chongqing southwest of China.

Al Bano interviewed by iChongqing before the Concert in Wanzhou, Chongqing.

“It cried yesterday but smiles today”. Talking about the impression on the city, “I have come here less than two days, yes, I have heard Chongqing before, but know little about the city.” He explained. The beautiful landscape, wide Yangtze River, and most of all, the culture and people here impressed him most in his short stay.

He was touched by the idea of the Concert of World's Great Rivers, and praised it was a great work to get artists from different countries to perform with the theme of great rivers in the world.

“Near the Yangtze River, the beautiful night will bring us love and harmony.” Al Bano said. Although he is one of the most successful Italian singers in the world, busy with more than 100 concerts every year, he came to Chongqing when he got the invitation of the concert.

Fascinated by Chinese cultural, he visited Wuzheng when he performed in Shanghai. Even though he doesn’t have as much fans in China as in Russia and USA, he shows great interest in Chinese cultural, and express that he would like to have a concert in Chongqing if possible.
