Chongqing - On July 15, the release conference of a large-scale tourist event, themed as Millions of Tourists Expected at Three Gorges as Wanzhou Hosts World Great Rivers Concert (the second concert for short) kicked off.

The live show will be held on November 21 this year. There will be four top domestic and overseas chorus teams, two great acts from the public-recruitment, local groups, and three or four famous artists to perform. The number of performers will be reached at 600.

It aims to create a new brand of the live show with features of the Three Gorges and international tourist standards.

To begin from July to November

The first concert was successfully held on November 8 last year. Meanwhile, Wanzhou invited musical teams from domestic and overseas countries or regions along with large rivers in the world. There were varieties of performances such as choirs, solo, symphony, dances and so on, interacting with beautiful night skyline and colorful cruises. The last concert impressed the public, thus, showing a beautiful part of the Three Gorges to the world.

It was so successful that the organizer decided to make it a symbol or brand. From this February, they started to prepare the second World Great Rivers Concert, trying to sing songs of Three Gorges to highlight features there. Also, the second concert focuses on the integration of culture and tourism, inviting the masses to take part in it.

It began in July this year and will last until this November. In addition to the concert, there are other activities, including competition for short videos, a square concert from districts and counties, and the evening gala live broadcast.

To integrate culture and tourism in Wanzhou District

In the interest of integrating culture and tourism better, the second concert will conduct the public-recruitment for choruses on the official website and several media platforms. For this time, public-recruitment is not only in China but also all around the world.

You can take part in the second concert in two ways:

First of all, singing lovers and choruses can register for the show through the online registration process from now until August 30. The evaluation process will begin in September and October, and winning videos will be put on video websites, including Tencent, Youku, iQiyi, and so on.

Besides, themed as I am with the World Great Rivers Concert, the activity on TikTok inspires people to record a short video on this platform to participate in the concert. You can record a video with a classic song in different styles to win a prize.

A million tourists to Wanzhou Port, as the beginning of the Three Gorges

Moreover, Wanzhou District is going to promote several incredible tourist routes, based on large tourist agents to bring overseas friends to experience a different Wanzhou.

Wanzhou District is going to enlarge the number of tourists via flights, cruises, and high railway expresses. In addition, the district focuses on tourists to Wanzhou by buses, attracting visitors from the local Chongqing and regions around the city.

Starting from Wanzhou District, there are three related tourist productions, from one-day tour to a three-day trip. Some of them will bring visitors to surrounding regions, which belong to the section of Three Gorges. Among those productions, you can enjoy the beautiful skyline there, such as Wanzhou Great Waterfall, Pinghu Lake in Wanzhou District, National Geological Park in Yunyang Longgang, and Kuimen Gate in Fengjie County.

Information of registration

This competition for short videos is a global contest, singing lovers, chorus teams, performing teams are all allowed to sign up. The number of performers in a team should be more than three.

The contents of the video should relate to great or large rivers all around the world. For example, you can sing a classic song from the regions along with large rivers for the short video. The video should focus on peace, freedom, dream, friendship, passion, and so on, to present the unique or traditional features of the area.

Video standard: the time of the video should be 5 – 8 minutes with clear voices and high quality. The resolution should be 1920 * 1080, and the format should be MP4.

Registration time: from now until August 30, 2019

Registration site: a contestant or a team should fill in the information on one of the following four platforms – the official website of World Great Rivers Concert, the official WeChat account of Micro Wanzhou (微万州), News of Three Gorges (三峡讯), Culture and Tourism of Wanzhou (文旅万州).
