The press conference of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 (Beijing Expo 2019 for short) kicked off on July 15. According to the conference, Chongqing Day, as part of the International Horticultural Exhibition will be held on July 25 to 27 in Yanqing District, Beijing, presenting the unique features of intangible cultural heritage in Chongqing.

Crucial activities: a number of project signing and tourist promotion events

Chongqing Day at Beijing Expo 2019 is organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Chongqing Committee. It aims to show economic cooperation, tourism promotion, cultural exchanges with Chongqing features to the world.

Regarding A Land of Natural Beauty, A City with Cultural Appeal as the theme, Chongqing Day will open on the morning of July 25 at the multifunctional hall of Beijing Expo 2019. There will be 200 guests from the world, such as the United States, South Africa, Belarus, and so on, will take part in the opening ceremony.

Moreover, there will be several signing ceremonies of forestry cooperation and investments abroad for the occasion. At the same time, it will promote advantages, resources, and featured items of the Smart China Expo, China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition, and so on.

Besides, several districts and counties, like Wulong District, Nanchuan District, Fengdu County, and so on, will promote their tourist and ecological resources. On July 25 and 26 afternoons, there will be two tourist promotion events to highlight several travel routes in different regions of Chongqing.

Chongqing features: unique and restored Chongqing Park

Chongqing Park is an excellent choice for you if you don’t have enough time to visit the city. It covers 3,000 square meters’ of outdoor area. There are three critical facets designed as areas of Chongqing Park – the overview, ecology, and hometown. It fully reflects features in Chongqing, the city with unique plants, mountains, and rivers.

Walking in the first area, visitors can have an overview of the city through the decoration style there. For the second area, there are rare plants there, such as maples in Three Gorges and some medicinal plants from Jinfo Mountain. Also, it is easy to see the demonstration of the hydro-fluctuation belt in Three Gorges. Moreover, the third area uses building materials, such as stones and wooden, which are from Chongqing, which have more than 100 years’ history.

In addition to Chongqing featured park, Chongqing Day will play promotional videos of the smart industry, tourism, the culture of the city on the LED screen there, thus, presenting the city in a more comprehensive angle.

Unmissable highlights: 42 featured productions to manifest culture

Additionally, Chongqing Day will bring 42 featured creations to exhibit achievements of industrial transformation and development.

For example, Asus’s computers and robots, facial recognizers, smart locks, and so on, will show how Chongqing transfers as a city of intelligent manufacturing. Miao embroidery from Youyang County, stone carvings from Dazu District, inkstone from Hechuan District, and so on, will present profound history and culture to visitors in this city. Also, many kinds of unique food will be available at the event.

Furthermore, during the period of Chongqing Day, there will be many performances to introduce Chongqing’s culture to the world. There will be 11 performances related to intangible cultural heritage, of which three are national level, and others are municipal level.
