Wuling Mountain Rift Valley

It is in the Wuling Mountain National Forest Park in southeast Chongqing 180 km from downtown and opened in 2001. The rift valley is karst land feature, with hundreds of millions of years' erosion by wind and rain. The whole valley has about 10 km long. It has more than 1,380m' distances from the highest peak to the lowest bottom. Otherwise, there are mountains, forests, gorges, waterfalls, caves, springs, etc. inside the scenic area.  Rare peaks and cliffs look like thin knives. Thus, many natural viewing Bodao Ling (refers to "the ridge is so thin that seems like a knife" in English), Wanjuan Shu (refers to "rolls of the book" in English"), etc.

The rift valley area has more than 95% forest coverage, with more than 2,000 species of plants. Because of its abundant resources of plants, wild animals regard here as natural home. Therefore, it is the "animal kingdom" as well as the "geological museum". Moreover, there are abundant spring resources inside the valley, which springs will never stop.

Furthermore, there is the steepest viewing point there, locating at the end of the rift valley - a ground crack. It has about 1.5 km long, with only one person can pass it at the most narrow place.  This is a spectacularly beautiful park with greenery all around. Summer is the best season to visit, camping there is wonderful.
