When you visit an exhibition, isn't it wonderful that you can bring back home an exhibit for free? There is one in Chongqing now. An exhibition called “Ten Thousand Gifts” kicked off on October 13 at DU Art Space in Chongqing, which  attracts lots of people  for the unique interaction with visitors.

Usually, a visitor cannot take anything from an exhibition, and sometimes even cannot touch one. However, on “Ten Thousand Gifts”, the visitor can take a piece of artwork for free by sending one photo of the gift anywhere he or she likes back to the Korean artist.

A visitor is viewing or picking a ceramic gift at the exhibition

There are 10 thousand delicate ceramics displaying on shelves, focusing on head and tanuki. The artist, Woo KwanHo, is a Korean artist, who is also a professor of Hongik University as well as a famous international curator. An enterprise from Japan provided him a large fund to invite him to hold exhibitions. He decided to use this fund to exchange with visitors to create more sense of participation. Woo KwanHo said he had held 7 similar exhibitions before, but this was the first time for him to hold in Chongqing. The 10 thousand ceramics presented in Chongqing were produced at Jingdezhen. It took Woo KwanHo and his assistants 1 month to produce these gifts, and every piece is different.

During the exhibition, these ceramics will become real gifts for visitors. What visitors should do to take the gift is sending back at least one photo to Woo KwanHo. The gift should be at a specific scene with the visitor. These photos will become the display materials for the next exhibition. According to Woo KwanHo, he had received more than 3,000 photos from 52 different countries.

Tips: The exhibition “Ten Thousand Gifts” will open to the public FOR FREE until November 12.
