Chongqing - Zhongshan Ancient Town announced the 14th “One-Kilometer-Long Banquet” Folk Culture Festival would kick off on January 26.
Exotic elements
Different from past years, Zhongshan Ancient Town, together with Giza Scenic Spot of Egypt, will bring visitors a distinctive cultural experience. Thus, it will integrate Chinese and African cultures, tourism, entertainment and cuisine.
The sponsor introduced that this banquet would last two days. Activities include food tasting, blessing and sacrifice ritual, traditional Chinese New Year ceremony, and the show of “delivering dishes”. Also, Giza prepared some featured activities.

Giza Scenic Spot, the co-sponsor of this festival, is the most famous area of pyramids in Egypt. During the festival, visitors can enjoy the visual feast of Egypt relics photos exhibition like the pyramids and the famous Sphinx. Besides, they can also watch performances like Egyptian dance. Without going abroad, visitors have the opportunity to experience the exotic sceneries and customs at the ancient town.
Meanwhile, a Zhongshan specialties stores will be established in Giza Scenic Spot to facilitate local people learning more about Chinese culture. The activity will help further expand space for international cooperation and show the world the ancient town’s history and culture.
The most charming town in China
Zhongshan Ancient Town is situated in the south of Jiangjin District, about 90 kilometers away from downtown Chongqing. It has the best preserved commercial streets of the Ming and the Qing dynasties in southwest China.
Therefore, it enables the ancient town to be honored as the Historic Town of China in 2005. Additionally, on June 5, 2015, it also won the title of “The Most Charming Town in China”.
