The two electrical workers with the drone

Chongqing - The drone now becomes “a weapon” more than an inspection tool for electrical workers. On January 16, He Tao and Yan Xin, two electrical workers in Yongchuan District, displayed the power of the drone by using it to clean a hornet’s nest.

Recently, they found a hornet’s nest on a pole during an inspection. Hornets once stung people since they settled down here a year ago.

Additionally, the growing nest will finally put the grid in danger. Therefore, He and Yan came here at 11:00 a.m. that day to tackle this threat once for all.

He designed and produced the "weapon" he brought, except its electronic components. And the two workers were responsible for flying it and controlling the flamethrower respectively.

They put gasoline into the plastic drum first and flew the drone, which came near to the pole 30 seconds later. Then, Yan burnt the hornet’s nest with the flamethrower. It landed when the workers confirmed that 10 seconds after the burning, the target was on fire. He and Yan did not leave until they cleaned the site.
