Chongqing - “If you ever want to come to China, don’t try to change it, do let China change you.” Said Gianluca Luisi. Under this motto, he has worked all his way through Chongqing, China.

Luka came to China 7 years ago when he started the education in Peking University. Since then, his life has been tightly connected with this nation. When Italy decided to set up a new consulate in Chongqing Municipality 4 years ago, Luka took the chance and worked as a diplomat in Chongqing, China. “ My first impression about Chongqing is very different. It is different from other cities of China. “ said Luka as he was trying to remember his first encounter with Chongqing.  “It has mountains and rivers. It looks amazing with all the modern parts and local traditional parts of the city.”

Luka worked in Italy Consulate in Chongqing for almost 3 years, and then, he turned to start his own business. It is quite a smart idea to combine the entrepreneurship with Chongqing’s local specialty – Pepper. Under the partnership with the local hotpot giant Dezhuang, Luka developed the brand – Chineat, which involved Chinese restaurant abroad and different Chinese food sauces. The business proves to be a big success. “ Doing business in China is not as easy as people can imagine. My suggestion is to find your partner locally and go for your business idea.” suggested Luka.

As an expat who runs a successful career and leads a fruitful life in Chongqing, Luka gets a lot to share. Check the video for Luka’s story and his valuable suggestions on life and career.
