Berlin - According to Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theater (Chongqing Chuanju Theater), Jinzi made its debut on the IMZ Avant Première 2019. It is a film adapted from the Sichuan Opera of the same title.

Debut of Jinzi at IMZ Avant Première 2019

This event has gathered over 500 high-level films from the world. The organizer also has high and strict requirements on the value, shooting, post-production filmmaking, manifestation patterns, and others alike. Jinzi, a Sichuan opera film representing traditional Chinese culture, won this honor. It is the first time for China’s opera film to take a debut on this film & television festival.

On the morning of February 10 (local time), audiences watched the 8-minute promotional video of Jinzi on this festival. Art practitioners and performance & film distributors showed great interests in the stage art manifestation patterns of Chinese operas. Coming from around the world, they were also interested in the performance of Shen Tiemei, the player of Jinzi. Its image description is also attractive.

On February 12, the festival showed the 50-minute-long film, largely attracting much attention on site. The power of art enabled Shen Tiemei and Jinzi to be a hot topic at this event.

Milestone of modern Sichuan Opera

People may consider Jinzi as the artwork carrying milestone significance among modern operas in the late 20th century. Then, the birth of its film adaptation may start a new journey of the opera film.

The purpose of its participation in the exhibition in Berlin is for promotion, hoping to introduce Jinzi and thus promote the popularization and development of Chinese opera art worldwide.
