Visit Chongqing Art Museum Next Month for Authentic Renaissance Masterpieces

175 pieces of paintings and sculptures created by Italian Renaissance artists 600 years ago, including Michelangelo and Raphael, will arrive in Chongqing in the upcoming April.

Miracle: Mona Lisa’s Smile & Three Renaissance Masters—Collections of Bellini Family will welcome its Opening Ceremony and Media Open Day on April 26. And from April 27 to August 8, the public can visit the Museum for these masterpieces.

The exhibition is going to use AR (Augmented Reality) to reproduce real lives dating back to 600 years ago while exhibiting works of art.

It consists of three parts: Works of Renaissance Masters, Collection History of Bellini Family, and Humanistic Spirit Embedded in Art and Religions of Renaissance.

Shen Qibin, person responsible for this exhibition and chairman of Shanghai Himalayas Museum, said: “Renaissance works will come to Chongqing this time, allowing people to feel the charm of Renaissance masterpieces.”

Artists and collectors consider it a complete interpretation of the Renaissance, which lasted almost four centuries.

Exhibits include the sculpture of Arrotino Lanfranchi by Michelangelo Buonarroti as well as Alba Madonna and St. John the Baptist by Raphael, which are oil paintings on canvas.

Mona Lisa, one of the collections of Bellini Family, will also come to Chongqing.

It is a work of Bernardino Luini, a follower and the most famous student of Leonardo da Vinci. This painting is a contemporary version of the Mona Lisa that is collected in the Louvre Museum.
