An Invitation from the Peony Land

Chongqing - On the morning of March 29^th, the 20^th Dianjiang Peony Culture Festival was grandly opened in the Dianjiang Peony and Cherry Blossoms World. The peony cultural festival will last until May, which is also the best viewing period for the peony in Dianjiang County of Chongqing.  

Peony themed cultural activities

The Opening Ceremony is closely related to the features of Dianjiang County. There is not only the melodrama Flower Basket Auction, which had the audience appreciate and know flowers, but also songs related to Dianjiang Peony, such as I Wait Together With Peony and Visit Dianjiang. At the same time, famous Chinese singers such as Wulan Tuya, Guo Feng, Wang Jieshi also sang at the opening ceremony, which won the enthusiastic plagues of the audience. The cultural performance of the Opening Ceremony has been adapted into the Labor’s Day special program of CCTV 7, which will be broadcast on CCTV7 during the holiday. The Peony Culture Festival will last from March to May, during which five major events will be held. They are the Opening Ceremony and cultural performances, Mountain City Watch Half Marathon, China's Central and Western Peony Industry Summit, China Landscape and Peony Painting and Calligraphy Photography Exhibition, and Rural Tourism experience.

Peony theme film shooting

The movie The Red Peony and Fragrant Tea, which was jointly made by the Publicity Department of Dianjiang County Committee, Dianjiang County Culture and Tourism Committee and Hebei Bozai Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., was started on the opening day of Peony Cultural Festival. It is the first film with the theme of peony and the first film shot in Dianjiang County. It is a suspense film based on the peony garden in Dianjiang County.

More than 20,000 mu of peonies are in full bloom

At present, Dianjiang District has built three main peony gardens, The Peony and Cherry Blossom World, Kaizhifeng Tourist Area and Huaxia Peony Garden, with a total plantation area of more than 20,000 mu and more than 60 varieties. The peony of various kinds has ushered in the best time to appreciate from late March to late April. Kaizhifeng Tourist Area has introduced more than 30 new kinds of peonies and over 230,000 flowers.
