Chongqing - As the Belt and Road International Skills Competition was busily going on at Chongqing International Expo Center on May 28 and 29, the daily life related competition items have caught great attention from the audience. The participants’ extraordinary skills involved in Floristry, Cooking, Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, Fashion Technology, etc. wowed the crowds from time to time.
A large crowd of the female audience gathered around the competition area for Beauty Therapy. The competition modules covered Advanced Facial Treatment, Body Treatment, Eyelash Extension + Mini French Polish and Makeup + Nail Art, which are females’ most cared daily stuff. “I would like to learn some practical skills and tips from here to use in my daily beauty care.” Said a lady in the audience as she was recording the competing process with her phone. The participants’ beauty care gesture looked graceful but also got enough strength. Except for experienced skills and rich knowledge, outstanding beauty care professionals should also have good physical strength. Because he/she needs to provide a sophisticated facial and physical care and appearance design for the customer, which required both time and constant movement.

Ladies can never say no to a bouquet of beautiful flowers, that makes the flower the uniquely romantic language among females and males. The skill competition of the floristry interpreted the ultimate art of the flower language. The participants from 6 countries and regions integrated their intuitions and understanding of floristry into the flowers in front of them and turned them into beautiful bouquets in their hands. The Floristry competition was divided into 4 modules including Bouquet, Arrangement of Cut Flower, Bridal Design and Surprise Box. The Surprise Box module was the most-awaited part, the participants got to know what flowers they would use only 15 minutes before the competition started, and they needed to create a flower surprise box spontaneously.

The high standards involved in the skill competition of Cooking were very impressive. The things we touch upon each day can be so carefully and respectfully treated and even turned into an art level. A British participant, after cleaning the hands, turned off the water tap with a piece of paper between the skin and the tap surface to prevent reinfection of bacteria. After touching the plate, he would also clean the plate with paper to erase fingerprint. These details were accomplished by the watching crowds. Strict standards such as certain weight of each dish and no waste of food materials refreshed the audience understanding of cooking.
