Chongqing - “The agreements and cooperation between Israel and Chongqing as well as China will help to make the situation easier for Israeli enterprises to make the first step into the Chinese Market,” said Mr. David Shayan, Co-founder and CEO of Extend Consultant Company in Israel, as he was answering the questions from the press during the Belt and Road Forum for Interconnected Land – Sea Development on June 3.

According to Mr. Shayan, the technology and innovation Israel hold just meet the needs of the Chinese Market, and the cooperation is mutually beneficial. The agreement can be carried out in two ways. First, Israel can take preexisting technology to China to solve problems such as air pollution, water pollution, agriculture, and energy transportation. Secondly, there are also many startups in Israel that need Chinese investment to bring brilliant ideas to reality.

Mr. Shayan also indicated that due to the difference in culture, language, and law between China and Israel, the Israeli companies may hesitate to cooperate with China. “Chongqing is a business center in China. Many international companies operate here. Chongqing also offers many opportunities. It is an ideal place for Israel companies to get started here,” he said.

“In reality, when a country is open to globalization, you can see people’s lives are better in that country,” said Mr. Shayan on the question of globalization. As the world economy is facing uncertainties, Mr. Shayan believes that the Belt and Road Initiative could bring trade, peace and flourish. “Although the Belt and Road do not go through Israel, we see many opportunities in it.”
