Chongqing - On June 4, after the whole day’s communication and discussion at the Belt and Road Forum for Interconnected Land-Sea Development on June 3, around 150 attendants from both home and abroad took a visit to Chongqing Three Gorges Museum, Guoyuan Port and Chongqing Digital Economy Development Exhibition Center. The attendants got an overview of Chongqing’s culture, history, and economic development through the trip.

The first stop is the Three Gorges Museum, where the attendants learned the history and culture along the Three Gorges area and heard the detailed presentation about the world-famous Three Gorges Dam. "It was very encouraging to see how China preserves the history and culture of the Three Gorges so well." Said Mr. Robert Thomas, the Elected Member of the Auckland Council, after the tour around the Three Gorges Museum. He also told iChongqing that he was impressed by the electrical capacity that the Three Gorges Dam can deliver, "It was 20 times bigger than what New Zealand needs to run the whole country," he said.

Then the group took an on-the-spot investigation in Chongqing Guoyuan Port, which is the largest inland rail-road-water hub port in China and where the train of the International Land-Sea Trade Corridor goes. The attendants were impressed by the large inland port and its logistic capacity. "Chongqing occupies a very strategic position in China. The railway express starts here only take 10 and some days (Editor's note: usually 14-15) to get to Europe. I see a lot of potential to improve the relation between Chongqing and Europe," said Ms. Simona Surinao, member of Constitutional Affairs Committee, Chamber of deputies.

The third stop is the Chongqing Digital Economy Development Exhibition Center, and the attendants learned how the Big Data Intelligence empowers the economy and enriches life in Chongqing. During the visit, Mr. Mahir Khalilov, the Chief Representative of Primum Consulting to China, told iChongqing, "driven by the Belt and Road Initiative, Chongqing enjoys prosperous development. Azerbaijan is also involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. I see a lot of opportunities for us to work together."
