Chongqing - On July 5, 1089 Contemporary Art Center, located in Jiefangbei CBD, Yuzhong District, welcomed the Graduation Sculpture Exhibition of outstanding Class 2014 graduates of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.

Previously, people had to visit Chongqing University Town for such exhibitions. However, this year, they can enjoy the works of graduates downtown for free. Themed on The Bright Future of Art, the show will last till August 25.
Ever since its birth in 1953, the Department of Sculpture was influenced by classical European concepts and the realistic spirit of former the Soviet Union, while integrating the two parties with traditional Chinese folk art to forge new sculpture tradition called “Sculptures of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute”.
Facing a new era, the shock of contemporary arts empowered “Sculpture of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute” to be more proactive through organizing ten sessions of Students Exhibition consecutively, founding the major of landscape sculpture, setting up Tomorrow Contemporary Sculpture Award and winning a range of awards when participating key national art exhibitions. All these fulfillment enriched the connotation and denotation of “Sculpture of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute” while fostering a new generation of brilliant sculptors for China.
