International Cultural Elements Highlight Chongqing International Cultural Industry Expo

Chongqing - Culture is one of the main topics in international communication. Chongqing International Cultural Industry Expo has taken great efforts to shoulder the mission to encourage and provide a brilliant platform for cultural exchanges from both home and abroad.

The 8th Chongqing International Cultural Industry Expo will take place in Chongqing International Expo Center from Sep.12 to 15. On July 15, the Promotion Conference among Consulates in Chongqing was held to encourage more international exhibitors to participate in the grand cultural event. Representatives from Consulates General of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ethiopia, Japan, Hungary, Italy in Chongqing and KOTRA Chongqing representative office attended the promotion conference.

According to expo host, five elements highlight this year’s Chongqing International Cultural Industry Expo. First, Chongqing’s 38 districts and counties will all participate in the expo to demonstrate their rich and charming local cultures. Second, the participating provinces and cities will reach the highest number in the expo history. Third, a surge in participation number of national-class folk culture and cultural and creative enterprises. Forth, 20 top cultural equipment enterprises nationally have been invited to join the expo. Fifth, 30 cultural and creative enterprises from Taiwan will debut in the expo.  

Taking up 60,000 square meters, the huge expo center area this year holds five exhibition areas including The Belt and Road Initiative International Cultures Hall, Overseas Chinese Culture Hall, Sales Hall for Distinctive Cultural Products, “Display of Scenery and Culture” Cultural Achievements Hall, and Cultures and Arts Exchange Hall. It involves numerous cultural fields such as cultural tourism commodities, cultural equipment, overseas Chinese culture, cultural and creative markets, folk arts, and crafts.

The Belt and Road Initiative International Cultures Hall will display the cultures of the countries, regions, and cities along the Belt and Road. So far, the expo has invited exhibitors and representatives from 20 countries including Russia, Belgium, Kenya, South Korea, Czech Republic, and Pakistan, to participate. “Display of Scenery and Culture” Cultural Achievements Hall will demonstrate the achievements in fields such as poverty alleviation through culture, cultural industry, as well as culture and tourism integration. The expo will also creatively set the Chinese Culture Hall to shed the spotlight on the integration of Chinese traditional culture and international multi-cultures. The Hall consists of 4 areas - "The Motherland in My Heart" theme area, overseas Chinese cultural and creative products area, international cultural commodity trading area, and foreign culture and tourism integration area.

Chongqing International Cultural Industry Expo has been successfully held for the past seven years. The last expo involved 25 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and 18 countries and regions with nearly 1,000 merchants from 180 industries taking participation. The turnover reached 125 million RMB, and the total contract signing value topped 30.8 billion RMB.
