National Art Exhibition in Chongqing: Presenting Achievements of the Past 70 Years

From the Press Conference of the 13th National Art Exhibition (Chongqing) on September 17, the sub-exhibitions of oil painting and sculptures will be held in Chongqing, marking the event’s debut in this city. The two sub-exhibitions will be held on September 22 and September 25.

The National Art Exhibition (NAE) is a state-level comprehensive presentation and China’s highest grand gathering of fine arts, sponsored by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and China Artists Association. The 13th NAE has set 13 sub-exhibition areas, and 595 oil paintings and 297 sculptures will be presented in Chongqing. Among them, 36 oil paintings and 23 sculptures are from Chongqing.

The two sub-exhibitions are also attractive. The oil painting sub-exhibition reflects the concept of people-oriented and carrying forward the spirits of this era. Visitors will see the artworks under the themes of revolutionary history, the Belt and Road Initiative, the struggle of Chinese people, etc. They will show the remarkable achievements of China over the past seven decades since its founding. In the sculpture exhibition, the artworks reproduce the history and praise the people under various themes and through new materials and diverse artistic expressions.

The oil painting sub-exhibition will open at the Art Gallery of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute from September 22 to October 22; the sculpture sub-exhibition will be held at Chongqing Contemporary Fine Art Museum from September 25 to October 25. Citizens are welcomed to visit for free.
