On September 22, the oil painting sub-exhibition of the 13th National Art Exhibition (Chongqing) (NAE) was held at the Art Gallery of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. This art festival proudly shows the highest level, the largest scale, and most potent influence in China, and it is the debut show in Chongqing since its opening 70 years ago. Now, citizens can enjoy 595 well-selected oil paintings, including 90 for exhibition in Beijing and 12 award winners, for free.

Notably, 36 pieces of work are from Chongqing-based artists, marking the best achievement since the city’s participation in the NAE.

Amid the visitors, Cui Yongquan, now 84, was tightly holding the hands of his wife. To arrive early, they departed from home at 9 o’clock that morning and took two hours taking the subway to the venue. “It is my first time to visit such a grand exhibition,” He expressed and described the collection of various gorgeous artworks.
