Ten national post-doctoral scientific research stations in Chongqing have been approved on November 5, increasing the number of its national post-doctoral scientific research stations to 83, which cover 61 first-level disciplines. In addition, there have been 65 national doctoral scientific research stations and 214 municipal post-doctoral stations.
Chongqing will further innovate post-doctoral policies and measures, attract more doctors to enter the stations.
It also disclosed that a series of work has been carried out to facilitate the recruitment of doctors and postdoctoral students, and enhance the training quality over the recent years, achieving remarkable results. At present, a total of 11 doctoral degree-granting units in the city have set up their respective post-doctoral research stations; as a result, the layout of post-doctoral stations has been completed in vital industrial enterprises in Chongqing.
Chongqing has established the doctoral and postdoctoral continuous cultivation mechanism for cultivating doctors who have entered the stations for a specific organization, and signed a targeted agreement of entering the stations with the doctoral candidates, and provided a certain amount of tuition subsidies, specifying that such candidates shall come back to Chongqing for postdoctoral research work after their graduation. At the same time, the city has built a post-doctoral innovation supporting platform and provided financial support to encourage post-doctoral innovation and entrepreneurship.
“By virtue of these measures, the rate of those post-doctoral students who stay and work in Chongqing has reached 73%, significantly supporting the construction of disciplines and the cultivation of talent in key fields such as electronic information, mechanical engineering, and new materials in universities and colleges in Chongqing,” said the head of Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
In the following, Chongqing will further innovate post-doctoral policies and measures, attract more doctors to enter the stations through such activities as the “Chongqing Talents Conference.” Besides, we will cultivate more outstanding postdocs to provide powerful intellectual support for Chongqing’s innovation and development.
