Large-scale 3D Puppet Show Chang’e Flying to the Moon
This traditional fairy tale has been passed down in all ages in China. Puppet show Chang’e Flying to the Moon, as a national intangible cultural heritage project, has inherited and developed the ancient techniques of zhangtou wooden rod puppetry in Yangzhou City.
The puppet show used holographic projection technology to present three levels of scenery on the stage. The stage settings at the front and back were both displayed with the technology. The new version of Chang’e Flying to the Moon combined traditional elements with modern technology and many other aspects in a harmonious way. During the performance, ten golden crows (or sun crows) came to the front of the stage to have close contact with the audience.
In addition, varieties of lights were adopted for the stage to perfectly tone the scenery.
