The Big-data Industrial Talent Alliance of Chongqing was established on December 26. Its sponsors include not only the Government of Yongchuan District but also well-known universities, such as Chongqing University and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and the leading enterprises, consisting of iFLYTEK, Tencent, Ali, Baidu, and others.

It is the first big-data-related alliance of its kind in China, aiming to integrate the resources of universities, industrial parks, enterprises, and others and form a whole-chain industrial ecology of big data talent cultivation, technology R&D, achievement transformation, promotion, and application, thus providing talent for the development of the big data industry in Chongqing and around China.
The big data intelligence industry is developing rapidly in Chongqing and has attracted over 3,000 enterprises. Some statistical data shows that in 2018, the shortage of qualified big data talent was 600 thousand around China and 50 thousand in Chongqing alone.

“The alliance-led mode works to draw a clear talent portrait,” said a principal of iFLYTEK on the site. Following this portrait, enterprises will conduct employment screening, and universities will cultivate talent and urge students to achieve high-quality employment.
In addition to 200 national and municipal specialized research institutions, Chongqing has brought in more than 100 national talent people in related fields, and over 50 Chongqing-based universities boast the annual talent output of 40,000, ranking among the best in China’s central and western regions.
