The exhibition was guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Shapingba District People’s Government and Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone Administrative Committee; co-sponsored by Chongqing Hongyi Jiuzhou International Culture and Art Development Co., Ltd. and Germany’s Pashmin Art Gallery; and undertaken by Hong Art Museum.

A special exhibition was given on-site for the works of Julius Voegtli (1879-1944), a Swiss pioneer of impressionism. His works are known to start from realism and end up with impressionism. Still, life, portraits, scenery, soldiers, and animals in his works have brought the audience back to the times between the two world wars. Other works spanning over two centuries are worth more than 16 million euros in total. There are century-old impressionist arts as well as featured contemporary western masterpieces of all kinds.

By introducing western arts in Chongqing, the exhibition is expected to promote the artistic exchange and mutual advancement between Chinese and western culture and art and to provide Chongqing citizens with close access to the spectacular artworks of western countries. “The works displayed are of high artistic level and appreciation value. They are significant to boosting the cultural exchange between Chongqing and other parts of the world,” said Wei Dong, secretary-general of Chongqing Artists Association.

The exhibition will last until March 31. Tickets are available at Damai.cn, WeChat Official Account “Hongyi Jiuzhou,” etc.
