Living with COVID-19⑮ Janet Doutre: Initiative to Donate PPE for Local Community in Vancouver

Chongqing- in this episode of Living with COVID-19, iChongqing has connected with Janet Doutre, a Chinese woman in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She is a professional immigration lawyer and international student’s advisor at the University of British Columbia. In this webinar during COVID-19 on April 17, 2020, she shared her vision and life, and call for an initiative: to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for your neighbors and the local community, because she believes that helping others is helping yourself.

iChongqing’s reporter found Janet’s diaries on social media was impressive as overseas Chinese’s stories. In her diaries, she noted how she collects PPE from China and locally, and she called on donation and fund-raising for local hospitals and communities. In this tough combat against COVID-19 pandemic, like other Chinese overseas, she showed us the warm heart and love for the world regardless of nationality.
