Hongyadong and Kuanzhai Alley Jointly to Promote Bashu Cultural Tourism

On April 22, Hongyadong and Kuanzhai Alley signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which is the first Bashu cultural tourism project jointly promoted by Yuzhong District of Chongqing and Qingyang District of Chengdu, aiming to advance the construction of Bashu cultural tourism.

As an important representative of Bayu cultural tourism, Hongyadong received more than 17 million tourists last year, making it the biggest magnet of Chongqing cultural tourism. Kuanzhai Alley, an epitome of Chengdu, draws tens of millions of tourists every year. Yuzhong District and Qingyang District also the core urban tourist areas of Chongqing and Chengdu, respectively, with rich cultural deposits and tourism resources.

Both sides will push forward the agreement through deep cooperation in such areas as brand creation, marketing, mutual promotion of products, and tourist attraction.

In terms of interactive marketing, the two cities plan to hold urban interactive marketing activities, with the two scenic sites hosting scene activities under the name of the other. This will enable the two famous scenic areas to penetrate into the hearts of tourists, making them experience the charming Sichuan and Chongqing culture.

Concerning the mutual promotion of products, the two sides propose to hold exhibitions with the theme of travel tips on Chengdu and Chongqing, involving their routes of catering, accommodation, traveling, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment, to promote their characteristic culture, delicacy, brands and consumption places.

In the aspect of tourist-attracting, both cities select their major metro lines to create characteristic cars themed on Hongyadong or Kuanzhai Alley and add the train with the theme of the two cities’ named during the weekend hours of round-trip CRH trains.

After the signing ceremony, the two district governments held a symposium on the construction of Bashu cultural tourism. They will strengthen discussions and exchanges to promote mutual cultural interaction and integrate resources and brands to push forward the construction of a number of cultural tourism projects of both cities, in a bid to promote the win-win development of both cultural and tourism undertakings and propel the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
