School of Journalism Lecturer Zhang Yadi Explains ‘People First’ as Stated During the Two Sessions

Chongqing- On the first afternoon of the National People’s Congress in Beijing, President Xi Jinping met with the delegation of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. During the meeting, he emphasized that 'people first' should always remain the overriding principle in order to safeguard the well-being of the public.

Particularly in light of the on-going pandemic worldwide, the principle demands no effort should be spared in the battle for epidemic prevention and control, even such actions may create a negative impact on national economic performance.

In order to gain a clearer understanding of 'people first,' lecturer Zhang Yadi from the School of Journalism at Chongqing University joins iChongqing to discuss the principle in greater detail.

During the interview, she explains the meaning behind the term on a more substantive level, and the practical implications this entails within the Chinese context.
