How beautiful are these terraces? Let’s check it out!

Daliangzi Terraces

The Daliangzi terraces, located in Shixing Village, Sanxing Township, Shizhu County, cover about 140,000 square meters and are rated as the “most beautiful terraces” in Chongqing. They are well arranged and wind up along the hills. The rolling fields filled with water, seen from afar, look like ponds or dustpans. They dance like notes over the ground. In the morning light and under the drifting clouds, the terrace fields come in various forms.

The layers upon layers of fields do not stick to one pattern, where the natural ruggedness can be appreciated. Comparable with jade in the mountains, they are both the gift from nature and fruits of labor.

The terraced fields in the late spring and early summer are glimmering because of the water conserved for rice transplanting. The fresh and tender seedlings are swaying in the summer sunshine, rare beauty of nature.

In May and June, the terrace fields in Shizhu are filled with water, hence a good time for photographers.

Yuelai enjoys a unique landform with a majority of slopes and endows tourists walking across the farmhouses with fabulous scenery.

Verdant hills surround the blessed, populated land. Houses are widely distributed, and from chimneys, wisps of smoke rise from time to time. People sow seeds in summer and harvest in autumn, a tranquil, peaceful life here indeed.

The well-known rice of tribute from Siyuan is grown over these fields.

One of the four major industries and a pillar sector in Siyuan Village, Yuelai Town, the rice of tribute is excellent in variety and gets ripe later than other types. It served as a tribute to the imperial court in ancient times. With a unique flavor and a big size, it tastes sweet and soft!

Among the rolling mountains lie the terraces of dozens or even hundreds of steps. They stretch from the foot of the mountain into the sky, which is spectacular.

Water is filled into the terraces every April and May. After that, the terraces, in patches or strips, will flash a silver light and show a fascinating figure.

The neatly laid out and curvaceous terraces stretch far under the blue sky and white clouds in beautiful curves.

When the sun rises and coats the terraces with the golden color, the water in the fields becomes multicolored instantly, so visually stunning.

The faintly visible cottages and the peasants working in the fields form an idyllic painting.
