James Explores Fengsheng Ancient Town Over Laowai @Chongqing Dragon Boat Festival

Chongqing- During a stay at Fengsheng Ancient Town over two days, iChongqing reporter James explores the town where local residents continue to live their daily lives. He walks the old streets, studies the architecture, and checks out the local specialties.

The series of events Laowai @Chongqing have been showing overseas guests the highlights of intangible cultural heritage around Banan District every weekend since May. On the eve of Duanwu-Jie, the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, foreigners watched a themed stage show that taught about the festival's historical origins, as well as featuring a dance performance and disciples' veneration ritual before everyone tried their hand at making 'Zongi,' the gluttinous rice snack eaten during this time.

In the video, see the traditional style guesthouse that hosted the event in the inner courtyard, and get a feel what it's like to stay in there in Fengsheng overnight.

After the Dragon Boat event on the second day, Laowai @Chongqing continued the exciting day trip with a visit to Caise-Senlin (Colour Forest) country resort, where the overseas guests enjoyed lunch, wrote their diaries, and enjoyed the spectacular scenery that stretches to the horizon.

Lastly, follow everyone as they visit a rural cooperative in a picturesque Banan valley, where they picked organic tomatoes to round off another wonderful day trip of intangible heritage and rural experiences!

During the two day trip to Fengsheng Ancient Town, Laowai @Chongqing organised a Dragon Boat Festival themed performance in the old streets to the delight of foreign guests and dignitaries.
