Chongqing to Start Construction of Five Trails in H2 2020

On July 27, according to Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, this year, the construction of walking trails in Chongqing will be incorporated into key municipal goals and tasks concerning people's livelihood and be accelerated. Among the 17 key characteristic trails, 12 of them have been under construction, with a total length of 136 kilometers completed.

Lijia Trail

In 2020, the city will focus on advancing the construction and upgrading of seven key characteristic trails, including Nanshan Trail in Nan'an District and Chonggang Trail in Dadukou District. Seven paths with a length of 167 kilometers have been included in crucial livelihood issues and major city-level projects. So far, two of them are already under construction, namely Nanshan Trail and Shaci Trail. The other five, i.e., Chonggang Trail, Panxihe Trail, Hong'en Trail, Jiangbeicheng Trail, and Southwest Region Trail, are pushing forward the preliminary work, striving to start construction in the second half of the year.

The total length of the Chonggang Trail is about 22 kilometers. The line starts from Taohuaxi Trail (construction proposed) in Jiulongpo District in the north and extends southward along the Chonggang Cliff Line and ends at Yidu Park in Dadukou District. The construction period is expected from 2020 to 2022.

Shaci Trail

Bidding for construction of Yubei Section has launched

Panxihe Trail is located in Jiangbei District and Yubei District. The trail has been incorporated into the environmental project--"Clean Waters, Green Banks" along the Panxi River. It mainly focuses on functions such as leisure, fitness, life, and recreation, aiming to become a pleasant riverside trail for the public. As yet, the first phase of the Jiangbei Section of the promenade, about 4.6 kilometers long, has been completed. Also, bidding for the construction of the Yubei Section has started, and construction is scheduled to start in October 2020.

While speeding up the construction of key characteristic trails, Chongqing will renovate and upgrade a number of existing trails, striving to build them into roads that facilitate green and convenient travel, enable recreation and leisure, feature nostalgia, and local culture, and boast beautiful urban landscape.
