Chongqing Rural Beauty Show Starts Filming in Yubei

It might be a bit weird to see robots flexing their arms in a crop field, but that’s exactly what the production team of the Chongqing Rural Beauty Show witnessed in the Xiantao Big Data Valley industrial park on Sept. 7.

The Chongqing Rural Beauty Show is a brand-new variety show jointly sponsored by the CPC Municipal Publicity Department, the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission, and the Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Commission. The show aims to display the latest achievements of Chongqing’s rural rejuvenation by exploring the cultures, traditions, local cuisines, and delicacies, as well as the rural modernization efforts of the city’s eight distinctive counties and districts.

The Show’s hosts interact with a robot at the Xiantao Big Data Valley Experience Center.

As the first destination of the Show, Yubei district exemplified its intrinsic advantages in agriculture technology by the construction of the “Five Hundred-Billion” industrial Clusters and the “Double Hundred-Thousand” rural projects. Guests and visitors were invited on the Show to experience the mind-blowing “black technologies” in agriculture, to talk with the emerging “new farmer” internet influencers, and to basically have a panoramic view of the technology-intensive rural landscape in the new era.

CQTV’s anchorman Huang Jiadi, popular blogger Zhang Baiqiao and “Chongqing’s Foreign Daughter-in-law” Lana were also invited on board to seek out the most promising young farmers and tech-savvy talents. The candidates, which include advocates of mechanized farming, newly-appointed village officials, and a college returnee who rose to fame by creating a 200-mu farmyard, are to compete with each other for the Show’s brand ambassador honors.

The first promotional live streaming event of the Show is expected to be aired from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. A lot of local specialties and delicacies will be randomly given out to viewers for free during the event, don’t forget to tune in then to get your free gifts.

After filming the first episode in Yubei district, the Show will later move on to the following counties and districts of Tongliang, Banan, Fuling, Fengjie, Dazu, Hechuan, and Rongchang. Preliminary debut date is scheduled for the fourth quarter this year, with CQTV being the sole premiering cable channel and online video platforms like iQiyi rebroadcasting simultaneously.
