The 1st Chongqing Night View Cultural Festival and the 5th Chongqing Culture and Tourism Consumption Promotional Season (Autumn & Winter) kicks off on September 26th. There will be nearly 200 nightlife events and promotion activities, including three art exhibitions and performances, three cultural art festivals, eight trendy activities, and more than 100 activities held by districts and counties of Chongqing.
The opening ceremony launching vibrant activities
Night view has always been a name card for Chongqing. Chongqing topped the list of “top 10 cities with the most influence in night economy” last year. In order to build itself into an international consumption center and a world-known tourist destination, Chongqing must develop its night economy.
The opening ceremony will be held at Jiefangbei CBD at 19:00 on September 26th. Meanwhile, the Cultural Tourism Bazaar, the “National Fashion” parade, “The Night Of The Mountain City” art performance will be held.
Cultural Tourism Bazaar will gather Chongqing’s 4A National Tourist Attractions and above, Chongqing, tourism resorts on the municipal level and above, village-culture parks on the municipal level, the demonstration areas of cultural industry, and so forth to exhibit traditional handicrafts, creative cultural products by museums, special tourism products that have been awarded the title of “Chongqing Good Gift.” The bazaar will last from September 25th to the 27th.
The “National Fashion” parade has two parts, namely the “National Fashion” performance show of intangible cultural heritage and the “National Fashion” costume show. Performers will stage special performances featuring intangible cultural heritage like “Dragon and Lion Dance,” “Carp Lamp Dance,” “Waving Dance of Tujia Ethnic Group,” and so forth. The Han-style costume will be shown at the “National Fashion” costume show.
“The Night Of The Mountain City” art performance includes three chapters that are “Creating· Fantastic Night,” Touring· the Night of Mountains and Rivers” and “Performing· Beautiful Night.” Intangible cultural heritage, creative cultural products, tourism, and hot springs will be integrated into the performance. The performance will display the connotation and extension of consumption in culture and tourism, enrich people’s life, augment the development capacity of the city, and activate creativity.
Theme events with more fun
Activities held at the opening ceremony will only be the first part of The 1st Chongqing Night View Cultural Festival and the 5th Chongqing Culture and Tourism Consumption Promotional Season(Autumn & Winter). The following month, nearly 200 night-view related and people-benefiting activities, including three art exhibitions and performances, three cultural art festivals, eight trendy activities, and more than 100 cultural tourism activities, will be held.
For example, during the National Day, Guotai Art Center, Chongqing Performance Time Art Center, Sichuan Opera Art Center, Chongqing International Acrobatic City, Bayu Theatre of Hongyadong will stage abundant performances such as Sichuan Opera, Peking Opera, operas, talk shows, outdoor cinema, exhibition, and so forth. Xinguangtiandi Square, Chongqing Vientiane will stage street art performances and public performances. Visitors can watch performances while they are enjoying coffees. Meanwhile, all types of shows will be staged at tourist attractions during the National Day.
From September 26th to October 9th, the Three Gorges Museum, the Nature Museum will extend their opening hours until 21:00. From September 26th to October 25th, Chongqing Library, Children Library, People’s Art Hall will extend their opening hours until 22:00. From present to October 11th, Chongqing Art Museum will extend its opening hours until 22:00. New book signing sessions, book reading and sharing meetings, night art exhibitions will be held at some libraries and museums.
After visiting Chongqing, if visitors want to share their “traveling stories in Chongqing,” they can participate in “Night View Appraisal Activity” and recommend places they like to see the night views and the night-touring route they like most.

The 1st Chongqing Night View Cultural Festival will last until October 26th, and the 5th Chongqing Culture and Tourism Consumption Promotional Season (Autumn & Winter) will last until February 24th, 2021.
In the promotional season, Southwest China International Children Fashion Week, the Music Festival, comedy season hosted by Bayu Theatre, Chongqing Hot Spring and Health People-Benefiting Consumption Season, the 13th Huangjueping New Year Art Festival, the 1st Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Film Festival, and so forth will be launched. At the same time, districts and counties will hold various activities to celebrate the 1st Chongqing Night View Cultural Festival and the 5th Chongqing Culture and Tourism Consumption Promotional Season(Autumn & Winter).
