According to the Yubei District Commission of Commerce, the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Specialty Hall debuted in the Beautiful Market of Shin Kong Place in Yubei District, Chongqing, on October 11. Local customers can buy agricultural specialties from Deyang, Guangyuan, or Meishan in Sichuan. Over one hundred delicacies await your presence.

The "Consumption-Driven Poverty Alleviation" Zone

The Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Specialty Hall has set up Deyang, Guangyuan, Meishan, Guang'an Panzhihua, Shuangliu, and Jinniu featured sales-exhibition areas, where over one hundred commodities—in five categories — like mountain delicacies, grain and oil, spices, delicacies and nourishing Chinese herbal medicines are on sale.

The hall has also set up the "Consumption-Driven Poverty Alleviation" zone, which sells exclusively Chongqing and Sichuan products intended to alleviate poverty. More than 30 kinds of local Chongqing products for poverty alleviation purposes, such as hotpot condiments, glue pudding powder, Sichuan-style marinades, self-heating rice, rattan pepper oil, and pickled fish seasonings, are for sale in the Consumption-Driven Poverty Alleviation zone.

From today to October 18, shoppers can get an exquisite gift (a catering voucher in the fresh market) if they spend 99 yuan in Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Specialty Hall. Besides, consumers with a Shin Kong Place membership card can get a 5% discount every Tuesday.

Chengdu's featured products enter supermarkets in Chongqing and vice versa

Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Specialty Hall was jointly built by Yubei District Commission of Commerce and the Beautiful Market Supermarket in Shin Kong Place. It is a major step taken by Yubei District and its sister city in Sichuan to give mutual access to featured products and premium agricultural and sideline products from both sides in their supermarkets and farm produce markets.

In July 2020, Yubei District released the Yubei District's Plan for the Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. According to this document, Yubei District will work as the commando unit in building the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and implementing a pilot project.

On September 25, Chongqing's Yubei District, in partnership with Panzhihua, Deyang, Guangyuan, Meishan, and Jinniu District and Shuangliu District of Chengdu, launched the "Sichuan-Chongqing Consumption Festival" in the square of the Yubei District People's Government. More than 100 signature products from Sichuan and Chongqing captured the rapt attention of the visitors.

Yubei District has signed cooperation agreements with Deyang, Guangyuan, Meishan, Guang'an, Panzhihua, and Shuangliu District of Chengdu this year to establish sister-city ties and invite more partners to get involved in building the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Relevant agreements indicate that Yubei District and its sister city in Sichuan have prioritized key business cooperation projects. These projects cover market expansion, collaborative investment promotion, trade logistics, conventions and exhibitions, foreign trade, and catering. Featured agricultural products from both sides are given mutual access to supermarkets and farm produce markets; both sides co-build the characteristic airport business ecosystem, gourmet streets, specialized buildings, and jointly hold high-end conventions exhibitions—and the list goes on.
