Singaporean Consul General: Companies need to make ILSTC economically sustainable

Chongqing- Mr. Tan Chee King is the Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Chengdu. At the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative Financial Summit (CCI-FS), he joined iChongqing to discuss the Singapore Consulate's role in facilitating the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Project on Strategic Connectivity, which marked its 5th anniversary this year since it was officially launched in 2015.

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore. In light of this milestone, Consul General Tan described economic partnership and cultural exchange achievements over the past three decades.

As the project continues to develop, he also detailed the future steps remaining in constructing the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. "Ultimately the governments provide or establish a platform and provide the framework and we really need the companies to take it up and make it economically sustainable."
