Parallel Forum on Design and Life Science Held at Yuelai Int’l Design Forum

Chongqing - As one of the two most expected parallel forums of the now concluded Yuelai International Design Forum (YDIF 2020), the Design and Life themed subforum was held at the Yuelai International Conference Center on Dec. 8. Experts and professionals from across the country shared their views on various topics such as design innovation, design organization, and medical innovation.

Yu Yeheng, senior vice president of United Imaging Medical, was the first guest speaker invited to the parallel forum. She gave a memorable presentation on The Intersection of Technology, Art, and Humanities by positioning design as a tool to help build a national weapon in the medical field.

"'Design like Apple' has always been a lofty dream for Imaging Medical, and also an Avant-garde industry development philosophy," said Yu. "It only took us ten years to benchmark ourselves to the top three international industry leaders in high-end medical equipment manufacturing."

Experts and industry leaders were invited to attend the international forum.

Following Yu's words was another highly motivating speech by Yuyue Medical's Vice President Zhao Shuai, whose main focus was on Let Design Rhyme Medical. Zhao gave a brief yet deep-touching analysis of the key role of design in Yuyue family medical products' development. 

"We need to bring a breath of life to design and make the 'cold-blooded' measuring machines become a part of people's daily lives," said Zhao. "A good-looking design is always a necessity for any generation."

Liu Zhen, executive chairman of Shenzhen Industrial Design Association, also shared his views on the innovative Shenzhen Design profusely. He thinks the relationship between industrial design and technology companies is inseparable, "fruitful results can only be attained through the integration of technology with art, culture, and industrial design."

Yu Yueheng focuses on The Intersection of Technology, Art, and Humanities by positioning design as a tool to help build a national weapon in the medical field.

Chen Yan, general manager of Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., explored the diverse value of multi-source data. She enumerated many teams working cases to demonstrate the values of data mining, data designing, and data-based user behavior analysis. "Researchers tend to start from small data, bring creativity into product design, and then verify the feasibility via big data analysis," said Chen.

Zhang Lan, executive vice president of Guangdong Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, talked about his expertise in Medical Intelligence Driven by User Experience. User-friendliness was, still is, and will always be a key focus of design, especially medical equipment design, according to Zhang.

After the five keynote speakers shared their views on various related topics of Design and Life Science, the subforum ended with a heatedly discussed roundtable, which invited industry leaders and the audience to hold in-depth discussions and exchanges.
