A total of 28 sets of large-scale Zigong lanterns have arrived in Singapore recently via the efficient and convenient rail-sea multi-modal channels of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC).
A total of 28 sets of large-scale Zigong lanterns have arrived in Singapore recently via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
They were displayed at a lantern festival in Singapore on December 18th. This also marks the premiere of Zigong lanterns in Singapore.
The relevant person in charge of the festival in Singapore said that the lantern festival will hopefully strengthen people's resolution, perseverance, and resilience against the pandemic and unite them in paving the way for a better future.
"We’ve also come across a lot of challenges to deliver these lanterns to Singapore," said the relevant person in charge of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Operation Co., Ltd.
He introduced that 100 craftsmen made the large lanterns in one month. However, due to the recent severe shortage of containers and stock overload in the shipping market, a high risk confronted lanterns' on-time delivery.
To enable the activity to proceed as planned, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Operation Co., Ltd., through multilateral coordination, allocated its containers from Qinzhou Port, Guangxi to Chongqing, to transport these lanterns back to Qinzhou Port by rail.
With the support of China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Administrative Bureau, Beibu Gulf Port Co., Ltd., Beibu Gulf Port Logistics, PSA Singapore, and others, the lanterns arrived in Singapore ahead of time on the afternoon of December 13.
