Chongqing Chip Center Put into Use

Liangjiang Semiconductor Industrial Park, also known as Chongqing Chip Center, was officially put into use with fifteen companies signing agreements to settle down there on December 22.

Fifteen companies signed agreements to settle down in Liangjiang Semiconductor Industrial Park.

They come from fields such as materials, packaging, testing, as well as research and development, covering the entire industrial chain to fuel Chongqing's semiconductor industry.

As early as in 2018, Guangzhou CAS Test Technical Services that located its Southwest China headquarters in Shuitu High-tech Industrial Park, with a total investment of over 70 million yuan (about 10.71 million U.S. dollars), will invest an additional 150 million yuan in the comprehensive research institute embodying scientific research, testing, and achievement transformation, which is about to be set up in the Chongqing Chip Center. By 2023, the company's annual yield is estimated to top 100 million yuan.

Besides, Chongqing Zhiguan Tech, a supporting material supplier of BOE Technology Group, mainly works on R&D and manufacturing new materials for intelligent display and consumer electronics.

Su Mengbo, President of Chongqing Zhiguan Tech, introduced that, with the newly invested 120 million yuan in R&D and production of functional tapes based on graphene and flexible materials, the company would build a production base covering the Chengdu-Chongqing region in the Chongqing Chip Center.

Chongqing Chip Center is expected to finish project construction and investment attraction during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). Around 300 companies are about to settle down here, which engage in design, R&D, packaging and testing, application, and other sectors on the entire industrial chain, with an annual output of more than three billion yuan.
